Trading at the beginning of the week in the Mekong Delta saw price stability. Purchasing activity slowed down due to the approaching Lunar New Year, and rice exports in the first half of January reached nearly $150 million.
Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained generally stable today, January 26th, at the start of the week's trading session. The market saw no new fluctuations as purchasing activity slowed down, with many businesses and traders entering the period leading up to the Lunar New Year.

Fresh rice prices remain stable across the board.
According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of fresh rice of all types continues to remain stable compared to the end of last week. High-quality rice varieties such as OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 currently maintain the highest trading prices in the fresh rice group.

For both raw and finished rice, prices remained stable. OM 380 export raw rice fluctuated between 7,600 and 7,770 VND/kg. IR 504 finished rice traded in the range of 9,500 to 9,700 VND/kg. Notably, Dai Thom 8 raw rice maintained a price of 8,650 to 8,800 VND/kg.
Retail and export rice market
At retail markets, rice prices remained relatively stable. Nang Nhen rice continued to command the highest price on the market at 28,000 VND/kg. Popular fragrant rice varieties like Jasmine ranged from 14,000 to 15,000 VND/kg, Japanese rice was at 22,000 VND/kg, and common white rice maintained its price at 16,000 VND/kg.
On the international market, the Vietnam Food Association reports that export rice prices remain stable. Specifically, fragrant rice with 5% broken grains is offered at 420-440 USD/ton. 100% broken grains fluctuate between 319-323 USD/ton, and Jasmine rice maintains a price of 446-450 USD/ton.
Reports from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Industry and Trade show positive signs from export activities. In the first half of January 2026, Vietnam exported approximately 318,200 tons of rice, bringing in nearly 150 million USD in revenue. The average export price reached about 470 USD/ton. It is projected that in 2026, the total rice export volume could reach over 7.7 million tons, with the first six months accounting for more than 4 million tons.
