Major Japanese convenience store chain Lawson says it will start selling rice obtained from the government in small packages to suit the demands of consumers.
TOKYO -- Japanese government-stockpiled rice released through no-bid contracts with retailers has hit store shelves in the country, amid high prices of other types of rice.
San Ildefonso, Bulacan—National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Larry Lacson said on Wednesday that there is an adequate supply of rice for the upcoming rainy season.

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said the government is working to ensure that the selling of rice at P20 per kilo would be sustained until the end of his term in 2028.
