This is what we hope to be a monthly price special, and being the first, the intention of this report is to separate the price update we had in past months interwoven with the main summary (so that it did not look like a summary) and create the price update its own space.
In this week’s special report, we focus on Vietnam’s rice exports, and take a deep dive into Viet Jan-Dec 2023 export data which we have updated, to show the key buy-side highlights
The official data for Indian 2023 rice exports are in, and allows a full look at 2023 exports which could be described as a tale of two halves, with H1 2023 showing the influence of a broken rice ban in 2022
The last report on Thailand showed Jan-May 2023 data and we suggested a 8 MMT potential, and this potential was not just achieved, 2023 export total of 8.73 MMT was from Thai competitiveness
