Vietnam’s rice exports in May are estimated at 1.1 million metric tons and valued at $573 million, a trade ministry newspaper reported on Thursday, citing data from the agriculture ministry.
This raised total rice shipments in the first five months of 2025 to 4.5 million tons valued at $2.34 billion, a 12.2% increase in volumes from a year earlier but down 8.9% in terms of value, the Cong Thuong newspaper reported.
The Philippines remained Vietnam’s largest rice buyer, accounting for 41.4% of exports in the Jan-May period, the report said.
