JAKARTA - Perum Bulog has confirmed the readiness of the government's rice reserve stock (CBP) ahead of and during the National Religious Great Day (HBKN), New Year's Day, Nyepi Day, to Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 AD, in a safe condition.
"We are preparing for HBKN momentum such as fasting and Eid al-Fitr, Chinese New Year, and Nyepi Day 2026. Bulog ensures that the Government Rice Reserve stock is safe and sufficient," said Bulog Operations Director Andi Afdal in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday, February 14.
He said that currently the stock of rice owned by state-owned food enterprises reached 3.4 million tons, supported by the availability of cooking oil and sugar.
He said Bulog was ready to strengthen synergy with the National Food Agency (Bapanas), local governments, and all stakeholders to bring affordable food access closer to the community and maintain supply and price stability during the HBKN period.
Through this step, he said, Perum Bulog emphasized its role as a national food logistics operator that not only maintains government food reserves, but also actively intervenes in the market to keep food inflation under control and supports national food security sustainably.
Andi Afdal said that his party was involved in the National Simultaneous Cheap Food Movement (GPM) held by Bapanas, which was a tangible proof of the state's presence in the community in the face of HBKN.
He emphasized that Bulog's involvement in the simultaneous GPM was also a manifestation of the company's commitment to maintaining affordability and ensuring the availability of staple foods for the community.
"Through the SPHP (Food Supply and Price Stabilization) program and the Cheap Food Movement, we continue to provide quality food at affordable prices so that the public can meet their needs calmly," said Afdal.
It is known that the government through Bapanas coordinates the implementation of the National Simultaneous Cheap Food Movement (GPM) as part of efforts to stabilize the supply and price of food before and during the 2026 HBKN. The activity was carried out massively in 1,218 locations throughout Indonesia.
The simultaneous implementation of GPM involves all regional offices and branch offices of Perum Bulog throughout Indonesia and cooperates with the central government to 38 provinces and 497 regencies/cities.
Meanwhile, the Head of Bapanas and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman said that he received a direct message from President Prabowo Subianto to protect the people and stand on the side of the people.
"We will keep food prices during the holy month of Ramadan," said Amran.
