The Myanmar Agribusiness Public Corporation (MAPCO) has planned to offer K450,000 per acre in the rice export zone, spanning over 4,000 acres.
A ceremony to hand over agricultural costs, fertilizer and seeders to farmers engaged in the rice export zone, implemented by the MAPCO and commemorate generation of solar energy (1,000 kilowatts) at the facility, was held at the MAPCO MFI 500-tonne modern rice mill in Hmawby Township on 30 January 2026.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, government ministries, the Myanmar Rice Federation chair, officials of the Yangon Region Agriculture Department, Agricultural Mechanization Department, MAPCO’s representatives and farmers attended the ceremony.
MAPCO is to provide K450,000 per acre in the rice export zone covering 4,106 acres. A total of 212 farmers received an initial contribution of K821.2 million. The seeders were also handed over free of charge in the zone. — NN/KK
