KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, US – Rice prices have eased despite the prospect of record consumption and an expected reduction in output from last year’s all-time high.
Currently, the rice with 10 per cent broken grain is being sold to private players and “maybe” in the next phase the government will consider to supply through the Public Distribution System (PDS)
Pakistan’s rice export revenue fell 14.7 percent to $3.36 billion in FY25 after a 3.7 percent decline in volume to 5.8 million metric tons, according to latest data.
With India accounting for 46% of global rice exports, the country is expected to ‘emerge as the primary beneficiary of the move for its proximity, availability and competitive pricing’
