She added that proposals are being prepared for the construction of additional godowns wherever storage is needed.
Hyderabad: Mahbubnagar MP and BJP senior leader D.K. Aruna has highlighted that rice procured from Telangana by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) is now in high demand across the country and is being distributed in eight states. Addressing the media after chairing the inaugural meeting of the Telangana Consultative Committee of FCI, Aruna, who was recently appointed chairperson of the committee by the Centre, emphasised the urgent need to construct more storage godowns in the state. She attributed the increased interest among farmers to sell their produce to FCI to the higher minimum support price (MSP) introduced by the Modi government. She added that proposals are being prepared for the construction of additional godowns wherever storage is needed.
Aruna affirmed her commitment to the development of FCI in Telangana and pledged full support to ensure that neither farmers nor the public face any inconvenience in dealings with the corporation. She also announced that meetings of the FCI Consultative Committee will be held once every three months going forward.
