The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall for three Ben’s Original rice products. The Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown, and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice products may contain small stones from the rice farm.
How To Identify the Recalled Ben's Original Rice
This recall impacts a limited batch of Ben’s Original products, so look for the following information on the packaging to determine if you have the recalled rice.
- Ben's Original Ready Rice Long Grain White Rice: Batch Code 533ELGRV22 or 534ALGRV22, Best-By Date 8/2026
- Ben's Original Ready Rice Whole Grain Brown Rice: Batch Code 534AMGRV22, 534BMGRV22, or 534DMGRV22; Best-By Date 8/2026
- Ben’s Original Ready Rice Long Grain & Wild Rice: Batch Code 533BMGRV22, 533CLGRV22, or 533CMGRV22; Best-By Date 8/2026
The recalled products were known to be sold at HEB, Target, United Markets, Piggly Wiggly, and on Amazon between August and September. However, the Ben’s Original products may have been distributed further by Associated Grocers, C&S, and Dot Foods.
What To Do if You Have the Recalled Ben's Original Rice
No other lots of these Ben’s Original rices, nor any other Ben’s Original products, are being recalled at this time.
If you have the recalled products, you should not consume them as the stones may cause oral or digestive tract injuries. Instead, throw the Ben’s Original rices away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
