Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Director of state-run logistics firm Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, stated that Bulog is targeting to distribute 720 thousand tons of food assistance in 2026 to maintain food security and support vulnerable groups.
He explained that the 720 thousand-ton target for 2026 is allocated for 18 million beneficiary families across Indonesia, with a four-month distribution period.
"For food assistance in 2026, around 720 thousand tons will be distributed to 18 million beneficiaries," he said during a press conference held in Jakarta on Friday.
He noted that in 2025, Bulog successfully distributed 707,929 tons of food assistance to 18 million eligible beneficiaries, primarily from low-income households.
Through this initiative, Bulog is strengthening its commitment to maintaining food availability and supporting vulnerable groups. It aims to ensure that aid distribution remains effective, transparent, accountable, and well-targeted throughout the country.
Although Ramdhani did not specify exactly which months the aid would be distributed, he emphasized that Bulog is ready to begin the process, as rice stocks in its warehouses reached over 3 million tons as of January 2.
Under the food assistance program, the government provides 10 kilograms of rice per month to each beneficiary. This initiative aims to maintain household food security and protect vulnerable groups from price volatility and economic pressure.
The rice aid is distributed measurably through Bulog, ensuring that rice quality is maintained and distribution is equitable for beneficiaries across the country
Through this program, the government is not only strengthening the social safety net but also maintaining the stability of national rice supplies and prices, while sustainably improving the welfare of low-income communities.
